Fiona and Anthony's Wedding

church

We were married in St. Mary's Church, Kemsing, on 14th October 2000. Sadly, although the weather had been glorious the evening before, as shown in this picture of the church, it was an overcast and showery day. Our spirits were not going to be dampened by a few spots of rain though!

flowers

Anthony's mum and Fiona's aunts had filled the church with wonderful flowers. Several guests had trouble getting to the church on time, because of the flooding in Sussex, but by the time the bride walked up the aisle (at 2:07pm) the church was full.

The wedding service was happy and musical, with the congregation singing the hymns with four-part harmony. Our friend Julie from the Worthing Light Opera Company sang two lovely pieces while we signed the register: Ave Maria by Caccini, and the Alleluia from Exultate Jubilate by Mozart. Her stunning voice earned spontaneous applause from the congregation! Then we processed out to Vidor's Toccata, expertly played by Lionel on the organ.

receptionWe had a wonderful reception at the Wildernesse Golf Club, thanks to the hard work and exellent service of Jane Brennan and her team. Music during the meal was provided by Ultraswing, a perfect light jazzy folky sound that was appreciated by everyone. The speeches went down well, and then there was some dancing before we changed to leave.

picnic Then we went on our honeymoon in Dorset and had a posh picnic!
