The
Primary Maths Grid+ project is designed to provide you with a
substantial bank of activities for teaching mathematics.
There
are various
ways of working with the materials:
- You can
employ the material to create
an environment in which the children use the maths that they know by
working independently.
- You can use the activities as the main part of one or several lessons on
a topic.
- You can select the correct units of work to fit into an oasis/assessment
week.
- You can edit some aspects of it to use as models for your own material -
for example by copying and then changing or developing the activities.
- You can add links to other resources that you already have stored
electronically - perhaps those digital pictures from your last class
visit which you would like a new class to see so that they
can generate questions to be answered when they go to the same site, or
examples of good work produced last year which can be used to raise
pupils’ expectations of what they can do.
Classroom organisation:
-
Use the plan to work through over an extended period of time i.e. a
whole day.
-
Use it for the basis of a series of lessons within a week.
-
Take ideas for individual lessons.
-
Use it as the basis for extended individual project work over a period
of weeks.
-
Enable
individual children to work independently.
