Worthing Cycle Campaign > Worthing Critical Mass Worthing Critical MassThe Worthing Critical Mass rides were originally planned to take place at 11:00am on the first Saturday of every month, but they stopped due to lack of support. September 1999The September 1999 ride attracted about 60 cyclists, and we rode for about half an hour around the town centre. Please come along and try Critical Mass riding. It's very peaceful, there is a lot of support from pedestrians and even motorists, and it helps to get the message though to image-conscious politicians. The speed is usually only just faster than a walking pace, as there are often young children riding along too. If at any time you decide you don't like it you only have to pedal off in another direction! If you do come, bring a bicycle bell - the gentle ringing sounds much nicer than traffic! The September Critical Mass was publicised by a leaflet that explained the history of cyle facilities in Worthing briefly. Web site maintained by Anthony Cartmell. |
