My facts

Jon Tyler based his bash the motorist letter on his statement - with speed being attributed to the most likely cause of many crashes.

This raises the question, how many are caused by excessive speed. The Transport and Road Laboratory report no. 323 concluded it was 4.3 per cent, so surely the 95 per cent of other causes are more important.

John Hughes' highly insulting letter accused me of wild inaccuracies, but I make sure my facts come from reliable sources. It is the anti motorist brigade who have been getting away with wild statements. More people who know the truth should correct them, as they have been fooling the public for far too long.
